If you want to learn more about coffees, make sure to also read differences between cold brew vs iced coffee. Tastes will vary a lot from coffee shop to coffee shop and from recipe to recipe. Of course, the comparison between a mocha and a latte is only fair when we use the same type of coffee beans and the same type of milk for both. For those who like a timeless cup of coffee, a latte is the way to go. The chocolate taste of the mocha makes it more indulgent and sophisticated, but also a little more sugary. So while both drinks are espresso-based and they contain steamed and milk foam, the main difference between a mocha and a latte is that the former contains a shot of hot chocolate. Just remember that these are not original mocha coffee drinks, just more indulgent variations of the classic. Mainstream coffee shops will also add whipped cream to your mocha, instead of just steamed milk and milk foam. During the winter holiday seasons, many commercial coffee shops will sell seasonal mocha drinks which contain hot chocolate and mint, hot chocolate hazelnut, salted caramel or even hot chocolate and black forest gateaux syrup. Mocha can be created with normal hot chocolate or white hot chocolate, making the drink even more sugary and sweet. However, a mocha can contain higher contents of sugar, so drinking mocha on a regular basis might add some unaccounted for calories to your daily diet.Ī mocha is best enjoyed once in a while when there is a call for an indulgent drink. You can think of mocha as a latte + hot chocolate combined. What makes a mocha more indulgent is the hot chocolate content. The right way of making a mocha is by adding a shot of espresso into a cup, then adding a small amount of hot chocolate or chocolate syrup, then topping it with steamed milk and milk foam. ![]() Although many believe that mocha is a caffeine-free drink, this is not correct. For lunch or dinner, one should order an espresso, a doppio (double espresso) or a macchiato (an espresso with a touch of milk foam).Ī mocha is similar to a latte but it also contains a secret ingredient: a little hot chocolate. Just remember that in Italy a latte is ordered as a breakfast coffee. When to order a latte? Any time of the day. ![]() Remember that a large percentage of the population is actually lactose intolerant so drinking a latte with oat milk is a lot more common than you think. ![]() While latte is traditionally made with cows milk, you can order it with plant-based drinks like almond milk, oat milk or soy. ![]() You can even find turmeric latte and sweet potato latte in some Asian places. The Indian chai masala has chai tea instead of espresso, also topped with steamed milk and milk foam. However, nowadays, it's fashionable to order a matcha latte which contains matcha tea and is topped with steamed milk and milk foam. The word itself from from Italian caffe latte which means coffee and milk. For example, you can even have Dalgona latte which is a whipped coffee cocktail.Ī latte is a drink which by all means should have coffee + milk. A matcha latte, a chai latte and even a chocolate latte (which is similar to a mocha). Some experienced baristas are using their skills to create latte art.Īnd while the above recipe is the classic type of latte, nowadays a latte can be made with all sort of ingredients, thus, making it confusing. Some will serve it in a tall glass, while others will serve your latte in a normal cup of coffee.Ī latte has a subtle sweet taste, with the right smoothness, thanks to the steamed milk that goes into the latte.Ī latte is made of a shot of espresso which is then topped with steamed milk and around 2-3 cm of foamed milk. It is on the menu of all coffee shops and restaurants and it's relatively easy to make. A latte is perhaps the most ordered espresso-based coffee drink.

![]() ![]() “We had four guys who had surgery during the course of the year. I asked Cassell back in 2013 about the trade. Many still feel that the Rockets messed with a formula that wasn’t broken. But in the 1997 West Finals, the Jazz eliminated Houston in just six games. During the title years, the Rockets, with Horry and Cassell, handled Utah twice, and in 1994, rather easily. What critics of the trade remember is what came next: the Western Conference Finals loss at the hands of the Utah Jazz. I still vividly remember a possession late in the game where Barkley snared consecutive offensive boards to help put the Sonics away. And in the deciding Game 7, he scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, including five on the offensive glass. In the pivotal Game 4, Barkley scored 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to put Houston up 3-1 in the series. In the seven-game Western Conference semifinals series in 1997, Barkley averaged 19.1 points and 13.4 rebounds in 38.7 minutes per game. The thinking behind the Barkley trade was to make Seattle pay for diverting so much attention to Olajuwon. Olajuwon averaged a pedestrian 18.3 points per game in the four-game sweep in 1996. Payton tormented the Rockets’ point guards and the Sonics’ defensive scheme allowed them to swarm Olajuwon without leaving the Rockets’ 3-point shooters open. The Sonics, featuring All-Stars Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton, were a matchup nightmare for the Rockets as composed during the title years. The 1996 defeat was particularly humiliating: a four-game sweep where it felt like the Rockets never really had a chance after a 33-point beatdown in Game 1. Rockets fans remember all too well that the team’s back-to-back championships were bookended by painful eliminations at the hands of the Sonics. But I have maintained all of these years that the trade was a success and the right decision because it got Houston past Seattle. They did not even obtain their highly anticipated meeting with Michael Jordan’s Bulls in the NBA Finals. The Rockets did not win a title as a result of the trade. The measurement concept for obtaining global astrometric measurements only possible from space is well-defined and well demonstrated. Indeed, the concept is identical to that of the currently flying Gaia mission where the nominal mission lifetime is 5–6 years. Ideally we would like to see our mission launching around 2045 which is slightly later than originally proposed - this just reflects the great success of Gaia and its 5 year mission extension. Efforts are now underway to understand and identify suitable detector technologies and to prepare for writing mission proposals. Our proposal was highlighted as both a potential future large-class mission or as a future medium-class mission with international cooperation. (2019) submitted A science case white paper to ESA's Voyage 2050 call for new mission proposals. Voyage 2050 finally set sail in June 2021 when ESA selected a number of future science mission themes. The required technology is also being pursued elsewhere, for example, the Australian National University is developing NIR astronomical detector technology with TDI capabilities.Īlso in 2019 Hobbs et al. (2019) submitted White Papers to the US decadal survey (ASTRO 2020) outlining the science cases and a possible US-European collaboration. Twenty six proposals were received and three were selected for further study - including NIR global astrometry. In late 2017 ESA conducted a Concurrent Design Facility (CDF) study of our proposal and the results were published in early 2018. Such a NIR space observatory is however not possible today: it requires new types of Time Delay Integration (TDI) NIR detectors to scan the entire sky and to measure global absolute parallaxes and developing such TDI-NIR detectors is a significant challenge. (2016) proposed to the European Space Agency (ESA) a new all-sky NIR astrometry mission, called GaiaNIR. All-sky space-based astrometry leads to a global solution and provides a rigid sphere for a celestial reference frame that cannot be accurately obtained with any other method. The science cases have been roughly divided into three Sections 1) NIR science cases 2) improved proper motion science cases and 3) reference frame science cases. A space-based mission avoids the limitations caused by the turbulent atmosphere and the use of Earth rotation parameters and models of nutation and precession. The accuracy of the new mission should be at least that of Gaia using tried and trusted instrumentation, techniques, and lessons learned from Gaia to unveil a wealth of new and more accurate information about our Galaxy. Gaia is already one of the most transformational missions ever as measured in terms of scientific output. Hence, it is very desirable to repeat the measurements of Gaia after about 20 years to maintain the positional accuracy of the stars and the visible reference frame. However, this accurate positional information and the accuracy of the link to the VLBI reference frame will slowly degrade due to the small uncertainties in the proper motions of the stars. After the publication of the final Gaia catalogue the positions of stars will be accurately known at the chosen reference epoch. Additionally, having two 5 or 10-year Gaia-like missions separated by 20 years would give 10–20 times better proper motions for a few billion common stars and also improved parallax determinations with new observations. An obvious technological improvement to the current Gaia mission is to also go into the non-thermal Near-InfraRed (NIR) with a wavelength cutoff in the K-band allowing the new mission to probe deeper through the Galactic dust to observe the structure and kinematics of the star-forming regions in the disc, the spiral arms and the bulge region, to give model independent distances and proper motions in these obscured parts of the sky. Thank you very much for reading, I hope you enjoyed this post and got some good information from it. This is one of those finds that you know you’re going to love forever. It’s stunning whichever way you choose to wear it. You can do both glamorous and subdued looks with it. Unlike the Pigment that takes some time to work with to get it right, this formula is perfect for fast application and can be tailored to fit your look. What I love about it, is that it can be used in so many ways. Final thoughts : I have been enjoying this product so much and I’ve been using it pretty much every time I go out.Constructivist, Groundwork and Camel Coat are next on my list. Would I repurchase? Yes, without a doubt.I know that many people love to use the neutral colours as an eyeshadow base and claim that it works great for that purpose. Cons : Dries fast (if you want to use it on your lids you have to work fast).Pros : Insane level of pigment, long-wearing, very vibrant colour.I also found that it can be used as a gold eyeliner with a liner / winged liner brush. It can be done fast, and easy with the lip brush. I have got loads of complements since I started doing it that way. It looks really stunning used that way and brightens up the eyes. I also absolutely love to use this for the inner corners of my eyes and on my waterline just at the front, not all the way. If you’re looking for really bold colour, you can use it on it’s own on your lids. Then, apply your lid colour on top of it using a shader brush or fingers, whichever you like. Fingers work best for this, using a brush takes to long and causes the product to dry up. ![]() ![]() Simply use your fingers to apply it onto your lids. ![]() In the container it looks more bronze, but when you put it on it is definitely a striking, gold colour. Cream-based, can be mixed with M♺♼ shadows and liners. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Here it is, MAC’s Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Indianwood.Ī highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. It is a 5g pot of gold, that’s how I would describe Indianwood. I love the Nourishing Waterproof foundation from this line, you can find my full review of it with lots of photos, HERE. Have you tried any of MAC’s Paint Pot’s? They are part of the Pro Longwear line which is supposed to be more long-wearing than their usual line of makeup.
